Finding your perfect nude lip is like finding you perfect foundation, signature scent or “hello there!” bra. It is a life essential. If the following lip products were to be discontinued, you would have to prize them from my cold, dead hands. I always carry one of these on my person, at all times…even when wearing a classic red lipstick, a colour that looks beautiful with my skin tone, still, it makes me anxious, as I often change my mind half way through the day because I worry that my face looks too shouty… strange anxiety for a beauty nut, I know.
In clockwork order –
Lipstick Queen Pinky Nude Saint
This is my Holy Grail lip. I wear it to the gym, I wear it to work, I wear it on nights out. I have got through about 4 in the past year and if you were to take a blood sample from my vein (because where else do you take blood from?!)… you would discover traces of this lipstick. The texture is sheer and finish is creamy and sheeny without a hint of shimmer. This is a “my lips but better” shade, and it is so comfortable to wear. You can buy it here. The only downside to this wonderful lipstick is how the 10% pigment of the formula does mean constant re-application, a problem quashed by the Sinner formula…
Charlotte Tilbury Lipgloss in Sweet Stiletto:
Ms Tilbury can do NO WRONG. This gloss oozes sexiness and flirtation. This colour accompanies her lipstick in Bitch Perfect and Lipstick Queen Pinky Nude, like no other gloss. Gorgeous rose gold packaging, sweet vanilla scent and a very shinny but not too sticky finish, it is almost opaque. Laaave it. You can buy here.
Lipstick Queen China Town Glossy Pencil in Catalina
For “no makeup” days when I want to keep things very natural with a touch of something something. The texture is very sheer and colour payoff is just enough to impart a little hint of natural pinky nude colour without looking detectable. I feel very fresh and young in this lip. You can buy here.
Charlotte Tilbury Bitch Perfect
The packaging is super luxe, the formula is creamy and ultra-pigmented, much more opaque than the LQ saint. The colour has a hint more yellow than Pinky Nude, and is a touch cooler. Still very wearable and my ultra-glam nude of choice. You can buy here.
Lipstick Queen Pinky Nude Sinner
Richer and creamier with more opacity than the Saint. The 90% pigment formula make this verrry similar to Charlotte Tilbury’s Bitch Perfect. This looks less pink than the saint version because my natural lip colour shows through less, but more pinky than Bitch Perfect. This is for glam days and glam nights… where the company I am in will not appreciate the Charlotte Tilbury heavy rose gold packaging, and who am I to waste that lipstick on them? You can buy here.
So there we have my perfect nude lip products. If you have a pinky undertone to your skin and lips, then these might be the best lipsticks you have ever considered buying. x
