NYX Butter Gloss: a 6 month obsession, still going strong.

Shades from right to left in order of most-loved: Eclair, Vanilla Cream Pie, Merengue.

I’ve been meaning to tell you about my love affair with this product for MONTHS. When I run out of people to tell IRL, this is usually the tipping point where a product love becomes a blog post. My flatmate is now also a convert and my mother is perusing the NYX counters like a mad woman with a secret tip off. This brilliant product from NYX has really changed the way I look at “affordable” beauty products…

Like any true beauty obsessive, when I find something fantastic and highly affordable… I buy big. I have multiple lip butters in multiple locations… in my bags, pockets, scattered across my dressing table, back-ups stashed away in my makeup storage drawers. It’s ridiculous, but I’m not even sorry. I get the same sense of satisfaction from grabbing another in Boots, as one would get buying a spare phone charger… a £5 yet very high quality charger.

Wearing Merengue - a true blue-toned pink colour, very flattering on pale skin

Why do I love them? These little buttery lip glosses are so softening and comfortable to wear, non-sticky, vanilla scented and have just the right amount pigment and opacity to look fresh and chic. Not Blue Cantrell feat. Sean Paul opaque, but a flattering sheer creaminess that looks incredibly pretty and youthful. Not bad for £5 huh? In fact, this hybrid of a buttery balmy product with a glossy effect, is not rivalled or matched by anything else in my huge lip product collection.

Eclair - my most loved lip product/shade OF ALL TIME. A very pretty, muted blue toned nudey pink.

Vanilla Cream Pie - much warmer with yellower undertones for a neutral nudey pink (on me).

Merengue - a super blue pink, to flatter pale and dark skins alike. This is a stronger pop of colour for me, so I opt for this when I want to have a brighter look.

The great shades, texture and price point make these beauties a true Holy Grail product. I have barely used anything else on my lips for a year! You can grab them here.

Love love LOVE NYX lipstuff! And I’m so glad others do too since apparently department stores over here in the states have started selling NYX stuff and it’s not just a drugstore brand anymore. I just hope it keeps the same affordable pricing. I have to try the colors you’ve been obsessing about, Emma. They’re so pretty!

I bought one and loved it so much but find them difficult to get hold of! Some of the bigger Boots sell NYX so I’ll go and find some replenishment lip butters. Awesome post!
