Think pretty, think instantly loveable, think pewter and rose gold packaging with magnetic closure and heavy, quality gorgeousness. The formulas are spot on and very very wearable with a quintesentially British colour palette of very flattering neutral shades. If you are looking for acid green eyeshadow or Rihanna blue lipstick, then Deliliah might not be the one for you, but for everyone else it is amazeballs… and I don’t use that technical term lightly.
Delilah was founded by three beauty gurus who knew what the market was missing. Enter Hannah Nicholson, Rupert Kingston and Juliet White; Hannah – a former Buyer, miniature Dachsund lover and Product Developer who previously has worked on some iconic products, Rupert – a former Creative Director and Makeup Artist and Juliet – a top photographer with work published in Rolling Stone and The New York Times. This power-trio wanted to create a line of product that felt boutique and very luxury whilst being perfect for everyday wear.
Whilst hunting for my Delilah makeup bits to photograph for this post, I could only find one thing in my makeup storage… the rest was at the bottom of my handbag, which is an honest testimony to how good the products are.
Since getting my hands on the range I have not been able to put it down. The lipsticks Blink, Stiletto, Vintage and Grace may as well have been made for me. I have been wearing Grace most days and just cannot get over the thin, sheer-feeling yet colour rich formula. This next-level lipstick formula is really ahead of the game. Vintage is the ultimate pin-up red and is a challenger to Kevyn Aucoin Eternal for me. Blink, I sadly destroyed whilst trying to apply on the underground last night *sobs*. I had consumed a few drinks. Oh well. This is where I remember that atrocities are happening in the world right now and I need to get over my perished lipstick.
The bronzer is hands down the best bronzer I have ever used, it bronzes and contours whilst remaining undetectable and blends like a dream. The cool/warm tones used in the light-medium shade are a pale girl’s dream.
The automatic eyeliner is really inky with excellent staying power, it does not move around your eyes throughout the day, and I will be using it on my best friend for her bridal makeup in a few weeks! Tested and approved.
My favourite thing though… is this blusher in Opera. It looks like a very rude bluey pink that in the pan is quite scary, but if you have blue eyes, this blusher is the prettiest most flattering colour ever created for your cheeks.
